I don’t understand my popularity on the music sharing website Soundcloud. Since joining I’ve been overwhelmed by the amazing feedback I’ve gotten. I’ve been remixed twice, and now just today was sent a song in which one of my tracks. “Things Happen Again and Again” was sampled. It is so bizarre how people can be so into it on the web, but most of the people I know aren’t into it, at all. Even I’m not as into it as my Soundcloud listeners are!
Well, here is the re-edit:

and here is the original:

The re-edit is by Put Beyond Use, my favourite Soundclouder. Here I’ll share some of my favourite songs by him.

I used to look like this:

And now I look like THIS!:

The Brady Bunch mom is not exactly the person I was planning on channelling in my new look.
I’m going to dye it blondey blonde to try and detract attention from the awful poofiness of it.

So, I haven’t posted a textual post for a while, and I kind of feel like doing so, because SO MUCH COOL STUFF has been happening! Firstly, there’s the crazy weather we’ve been having. It’s been icy and snowy for around two weeks now, which is so untypical for Ireland! This has resulted in school being postponed for a whole week (YESSS!). It has also had some not so cool effects on the country, such as car crashes and transport problems, but let’s keep this positive and not think about those.
My Christmas break was nice. I got together with fellow bloggers Grace and Sally who both have awesome blogs, GRACEFUL RAMBLINGS and THE OTHER SCRAPBOOK (click them there links, you know you want to!) last Sunday to hang out and take photos. I made spaghetti á la Saoirse which consisted of a tomato, feta and spinach sauce, and spaghetti of course. It was quite delish, if I may say so myself! It was so brilliant to finally get to spend time with Sally, who I have met only briefly before and whose blogs I think are just fabulous. She is not only incredibly fashionably fantastique, but also is this amazing writer, who writes things that express stuff that i feel sometimes and it’s just, like.. so good. Obviously her way with words are far superior to mine. She used to have a blog dedicated totally to her writing, which she doesn’t update any more, but is a great archive of awesomeness and you should totally check it out (Baa Baa Blogging). We not only took photos that day, but decided to video us miming along to a Destiny’s Child song and put it on youtube. For d lolz, like. We couldn’t have wished for a better response! Even Jedward told Grace via twitter that they think it’s “so cool”. Here, check out this screencap to prove it!
Another development in my life over the holidays is that I have expanded once again on the interweb. I’ve made another blog, which I’m using as a sort of thought sequence/scrapbook type thing, and just posting things I find on my travels to it. Check it out, I update it pretty much daily if not more often than that! Swequence is its name. It’s like swall’s sequence of things she likes.
Oh, and ALSO, I’ve started tweeting quite a lot too, follow me if you like!

OK, so now I guess I’ll show yis da videooh, yeh?!

And now for the wonderful photos I took on our blogtastic Sunday. You can also see the ones Sally took over at The Other Scrapbook!

WHO AM I?
December 30, 2009, 11:28 pm
Filed under: entertaiinyment?, ranting and raving

I wonder how many times this question is asked each day? Surely many, many times. At some stage or another we all try to figure out what makes us US.
I’ve been wondering what I would seem like to someone who found me on one of my sites and decided to check out my others. What does my internet persona seem like? Is it anything like the real-life me? IS IT, perhaps, the real me? Or the me I wish I was? Or the me I would be if I didn’t censor myself in real life? So many questions, but at the moment my brain isn’t in the mood to think about them enough to come up with an interesting theory. So I’ll let you do that yourselves!
In the realms of the wonderful internet, I go by the name of swall. I prefer it either ALL in capitals or lowercase letters.

SWALL

swall

You see, Swall, doesn’t really look so nice. I could go SWall, but that also looks kinda nasty. So, SWALL or swall it is.
I was thinking today about how my alter ego swall has ended up spreading herself all around various different sites on the net. So, for my own amusement, I’m going to make a list.
1. HERE, wordpress!
2. YouTube
2. My personal myspace. (well, on this I went by 19.23.1.12.12, which is, essentially SWALL.)
3. My music myspace
4. My soundcloud

I’ve only recently gotten into Soundcloud, but find it really great! It’s like myspace in that I can have tracks up on it, but it’s without all the fuss! Your profile only features a list of your tunes, and the only form of communication between users is commenting on the songs themselves. There’s no filler, no mindless commenting, it’s all about the music. The other great this is that you can have up to two hours of audio up there, as compared to five tracks on myspace!

The really cool thing is just how lovely everyone on the site is, I’ve had such lovely feedback from everyone!
Here, since I don’t know where the heck I’m going with this, I’ll finish with some of my soundcloud tracks!

and is liking it quite nicely.
today i went to tesco and just walked around for a while looking at things but not really looking at them. nobody saw me and i liked this. i found a dress that looked nice on a sale rail between the fruit section and the tampons section. i looked at myself in the big white changing room that looked like it was for wheelchair people in the big mirror for a while. the dress looked funny. it made my bum look like i was wearing a nappy, and though the floral print was nice close up from far away it looked a bit ganky and very much like it was from tesco. the shape was pretty nice though, apart from the bum thing, and it had a nice low front which woulda looked really nice without a bra.
i really wanted to get some rice pudding for some reason even though i never really like it, but the idea is very comforting.  instead i got a pack of 30 colouring pencils for 34 cent.

i also saw a picture of maggie gyllehaal on the cover of marie claire. she is so radiant, i have such a big girl crush on her, it’s not very healthy.

Just a quicky. As Grace says, we should do lots of little posts rather than feeling scared to post because it must be planned, and readable, and coherent. BAH! Who needs those things, when there are beautiful things we can look at without having to think about very much. Such a thing. Or… things… are these videos that I found today after checking up on netaporter. So, I get the gist that Stella McCartney has done a capsule collection ’specially for netaporter, and someone has made these lovely videos to show off the lovely ethereal clothes. Here, I found ‘em on youtube and invite you to have a looksee. Excuse the lack of sense in the formation of words and sentences in this. I have been studying Spanish, then Irish, and French in the past few hours and my brain is a bit mussed up. Yeyuhh, and I can’t be bothered to even read over this and fix the nonsensical-ness. I can talk the way I wanna talk, hey!
